The brand-new Audi RS 5 Avant is back in the spotlight again with a series of renderings that showcase the model wearing a widebody kit. I`m not sure how many will appreciate this kind of tuning project, if it is implemented, because this particular model also looks and feels heavy and already aggressive in the stock variant.

The renderings were created by @avandesigns and showcase the new-gen 2027 RS 5 Avant with a full widebody conversion, a digital treatment that pushes the new long-roof model well beyond factory proportions.

By the way it was treated, this car looks extremely real. Being positioned as the successor of the former RS 4 Avant, Audi offered the new model with the same package as the fastback sedan. That makes it already “fat” and heavy; however, it houses an engine and electric motor strong enough to reach the 60 mph run in 3.6 seconds, and offers plenty of room inside.

The rendered Avant also ignores restraint entirely. It features wheel arches that define the side view, along with extended skirts and some new elements around the front bumper. There is also a sharp front splitter that sits low, while the hood gains vents, which suggests a more extreme cooling package than the German-based carmaker currently offers on its models.

Moving towards the rear, two spoilers complete the package: one is placed underneath the rear glass, and the other sits higher above it. Lower down, a large diffuser incorporates an additional brake light in the center.

This imagined RS 5 Avant also sits extremely close to the road, wears unusual wheel designs, and carries a roof box that adds a practical note—if only visually. Satin red paint covers the body, contrasted by familiar black exterior accents.

It is probably too much for production. Then again, render culture rarely aims for moderation.

As a reminder, the 2027 Audi RS 5 Avant is sold with the V6 twin-turbo 2.9 liter, with the ability to deliver 503 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. The transmission has an electric motor, which is added to the club and gives it an additional 174 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque. This equates to a total power of 630 horsepower and 825 Nm of torque which is sufficient to produce a sprint time of 0 to 60mph in a distance of merely 3.6 seconds.

The 22 kWh battery pack is below the luggage compartment, providing a range of up to 50 miles of electric range, and the drivetrain also features a Quattro all-wheel drive, a Quattro electromechanical torque-vectoring rear transaxle, and dynamic torque control.
