Orange Audi RS 6 Avant on Deep-Dish Wheels Keeps the Old Super Wagon Relevant

Audi Sport still works on the next RS 6 generation, and the waiting game has already started. Sedan and Avant versions are reportedly on the roadmap as the company prepares another fight with the BMW M5 lineup, including the Touring. Yet the current model refuses to fade quietly into the background. Cars like this orange example explain why.

Questions still surround the future car. Some reports point toward a V8 paired with electrification in plug-in-hybrid form. Others mention a V6 shared with the smaller RS 5, though tuned harder to handle the larger model’s added weight. Reviews remain some distance away, so attention keeps drifting back toward the outgoing RS 6 Avant.

This one stands apart without piling on body add-ons. The exterior wears a bright orange finish, either paint or wrap, though the latter seems more likely from the available information. Oddly enough, the shade feels more suited to an exotic coupe than a German family hauler. Then again, the result works. The car ends up looking lower, longer, and more aggressive even before you notice the suspension changes.

And yes, the ride height changes everything here. The adjustable setup drops the body dramatically, enough for the wagon to struggle with steep driveways or ordinary speed bumps in its lowest mode. A button, or perhaps a switch, raises the chassis when needed. Small detail, big difference.

The silver multi-spoke wheels also pull attention fast. Their design vaguely recalls Alpina styles, though these alloys come from ZP. Visible hardware circles the rims, while yellow brake calipers peek through the spokes. Pricing starts at 5,900 euros, equivalent to around $6,850, for a complete set. The wheels sit perfectly flush with the widened stance produced by the lowered suspension. Nothing appears exaggerated. Well, almost nothing.

Power likely stays untouched. The RS 6 Avant still uses the familiar 4.0L twin-turbo V8 delivering 621 hp, alongside 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. Audi lists 630 ps and 463 kW as well. Straight-line numbers remain serious even years after launch. The wagon reaches 155 mph, or 250 kph, and handles the 0-62 mph sprint in slightly more than three seconds.

There is another reason builds like this continue drawing attention. Audi has not released the replacement yet, so the outgoing RS 6 keeps receiving fresh energy from the tuning crowd. Sometimes the modifications grow excessive. This car avoids crossing that line. Lower suspension, expensive wheels, loud paint, done.

For plenty of enthusiasts, especially wagon fans, the older RS 6 Avant still hits the sweet spot before the next chapter arrives.
