Striking again, ABT, has now a tuning kit available not only for the RS6 Avant but for its little brother as well, the Audi RS4 Avant got himself a tuning kit too now.
ABT has been creating the headlines this year for its RS6-R package tailored to the most recent RS6 Avant, however, the German tuner also has an upgrade program for its brother. Still a temptation in the U.S., the RS4 Avant was given a radical facelift back in October 2019, therefore naturally, ABT had to revise its offerings for the fresh speedy wagon.
Auditography recently had the possibility to spend some time with a modded 2020 RS4 Avant in Germany and captured the black beast from all angles. The dark treatment absolutely suits Audi Sport’s high-performance wagon, with solely the red brake calipers providing a splash of color for a contrastive effect. The AMG C63 Estate rival sits on aftermarket 21-inch wheels and eschews the twin oval exhaust tips for a more menacing quad setup.
It’s not all show with no extra go as the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 currently packs a lot of punch. It’s been taken from the series 444 HP and 600 Newton-meters (443 pound-feet) of torque to a healthy 523 HP and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft).
The sinfully beautiful wagon will do 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in exactly 4.1 seconds, however, that’s in stock type. ABT’s upgraded machine did the task in an exceedingly mere 3.55 seconds, which is essentially supercar territory. It was a wise go ABT’s half to start work on hybrids with the fruity 1.018-horsepower RS6-E, and also the Q5 TFSIe as a result of the next-generation RS4 Avant will be electrified. That’s right – Ingolstadt’s smaller of the 2 RS wagons can get a plug-in hybrid powertrain for its next iteration.
Even the RS6 Avant could be hybridized as Audi Sport has hinted an upgraded version might rock down to the electrical avenue. The same factor might happen with the RS7 Sportback since the vehicles share practically the same engine.
