It is raining with Legacy Editions from ABT when it comes to the famous RS6 and RS7 exquisite cars. We have recently talked about the RS7 receiving 760 horsepower; however, the tuner decided that this was not enough and added some “extra” juice in it: 1,000 HP; can you believe that? Details below.
ABT calls it the 1000 HP program, and in the case of this RS7-LEGACY EDITION, that label is not decorative. This is presented as a full conversion, limited to vehicles with a maximum mileage of 15,000 km, and is positioned as what the company describes as “the superlative power upgrade.” On paper, it reads extreme and almost excessive. In reality, however, it is a tightly engineered package built around cooling, airflow, and structural reinforcement, not just raw output.
Complete Powertrain Information
At the center sits a figure that defines the entire project: 736 kW, or 1000 HP, accompanied by 1150 Nm of torque. Combined fuel consumption is stated at 12.6 – 12.1 l/100 km, with CO₂ emissions sitting between 285 and 274 g/km; that is also classified under CO₂ class G, measured according to WLTP standards.
The technical leap relies heavily on ABT’s IWI or IWE system, the indirect water/ethanol injection setup. The mixture is injected upstream of the throttle valves, further cooling air that has already passed through the intercooler. An additional ABT-developed control unit works in conjunction with the AEC, and the entire system is constantly monitored by sensors to ensure coordinated communication between control modules. Lower intake manifold, combustion chamber, and exhaust tract temperatures reduce thermal load, allowing sustained high output rather than brief peaks.
Activation is layered, and by pressing the RS button for one second in one of the two RS modes, the system provides 940 hp. To access the full 1000 hp, however, the vehicle must be connected to the MyABT app, and “Race” mode must be activated. The system requires 102 octane fuel, while hardware support includes an ABT turbocharger, intercooler, and oil cooler, along with the full engine conversion incorporating the water-ethanol injection system. Top speed is listed at 330 km/h, with ABT also providing a two-year manufacturer warranty.
Exterior
Aerodynamic changes are extensive and largely executed in carbon bold. The front receives a lip with the RS7-LE logo and ABT front blades, alongside front skirt inserts optimized for airflow. A carbon bold grille add-on and bonnet insert follow, while black gloss wheelhouse ventilation at the front carries an “RS7-LE 1000” emblem badge. Mirror caps, side skirt add-ons, and rear side blades, plus rear wheelhouse ventilation in black gloss, continue the theme. At the back, a rear skirt insert and a carbon bold rear wing both integrate RS7-LE badging.
Interior
Inside, the treatment shifts toward Dinamica soul and Alcantara. The steering wheel is finished in Alcantara and paired with ABT shift paddles. Dashboard covers, seat frame covers, center console refinement and seat back shells adopt Dinamica soul trim. Front and rear seats receive ABT and RS7-LE logos, while the armrest carries “RS7-LE 1000” branding. Door sills, integrated entrance lights, a start-stop switch cap and floor mats embroidered with the RS7-LE logo complete the transformation.
Pricing
The package price for the RS7-LE 1000 is listed at 205.000,00 €, including installation, plus VAT. Optional interior elements such as carbon bold dashboard covers at 1.350,00 €, decorative trim set at 4.360,00 €, seat frame covers at 1.760,00 €, gear shift paddles at 750,00 €, shift knob cover at 600,00 €, and door panel refinement in leather Alcantara at 10.380,00 € are available separately, excluding 19% VAT and installation.
Conclusion
Rather than a single headline number, the RS7-LEGACY EDITION 1000 HP feels constructed around control. Cooling strategy, structural upgrades, and interior rework all support that 736 kW figure, and ABT seems careful to frame it as a sustained capability rather than a momentary spike. It is a comprehensive conversion, technically dense and unapologetically ambitious.
